The historic centre of Bardolino is characterised by the many narrow streets, which are laid out perpendicularly from the shore of the lake.
Originally Bardolino was a fishing village; it was fishermen who laid out the street pattern in such a way that transport from boats to houses was facilitated. Nowadays these narrow streets, full of charming houses with flowery balconies, in combination with the many shops and terraces, offer a wonderful atmosphere.
