Travel along one of the most beautiful routes in Switzerland with the Glacier Express. The train, which is also called 'the slowest express train in the world', connects Zermatt via Brig and Chur with St. Moritz. The tour passes through 291 bridges and viaducts and through another 91 tunnels. The impressive tour takes about eight hours.
The Glacier Express is the ideal way to discover the beautiful Swiss landscape. The journey starts in Zermatt, at the foot of the world-famous Matterhorn. The journey goes through the Mattertal, with beautiful views of both the mountains and the Mattervispa river. One of the highlights of the Glacier Express is the Oberalp Pass. The train manages to overcome a height of 600 meters in fifteen minutes. That provides a beautiful view. The Rhine Gorge follows later, also known as the Swiss Grand Canyon. The rugged rock formations are also a sight to behold. Also breathtaking is the Landwasser viaduct, the 65 meter high viaduct is 136 meters long.
