MURGATIC.
The dark fur around the eyes protects the skin from the sun. This also prevents them from being bothered by the sun reflecting in their eyes, which allows them to keep a better eye on their surroundings. When the meerkats are looking for insects, one meerkat stands guard. When there is danger, an alarm call is given and everyone dives back into their hole. They have a different alarm call for each enemy.
